Terminology comes first
The most common failure is targeting the literal translation of your English category name. Chinese practitioners frequently use a different term, an abbreviation, or an older phrase inherited from the local industry.
We map your product against the terms that appear in real searches, then build content around those. This one step changes which pages can rank at all, and it is usually skipped.
Zhihu: where technical buying questions live
Zhihu functions as the place Chinese professionals ask and answer working questions. For B2B software it is often more valuable than a company blog, because an answer sits inside a thread that already has the reader's attention.
- Answer questions that already exist rather than only publishing standalone articles.
- Answer the actual question in the first paragraph, then expand — evasive answers get buried.
- Show the working: numbers, screenshots, a reproducible method.
- Disclose the affiliation. Undisclosed promotion damages credibility permanently.
Baidu: still the default entry point
Baidu remains the first stop for a large share of Chinese searches, including commercial ones. Visibility there depends on a mix of owned pages, third-party pages that mention you, and structured, crawlable content.
Practical constraints matter: pages hosted outside China can be slow or unreachable, JavaScript-rendered content may not be indexed, and an ICP filing is generally required for a site hosted inside China. We check these before promising anything about organic performance.
What can and cannot be promised
We can control: terminology choice, content quality, technical crawlability of pages we build, publishing consistency and internal linking.
We cannot control: search algorithm changes, competitor behaviour, or a specific ranking position by a specific date. Anyone who guarantees a position is either misunderstanding the mechanism or misrepresenting it.
How we report search work
Monthly, in English: which terms the site is visible for, which pages gained or lost visibility, what was published, and what we intend to change next. Numbers are reported as they are, including months where nothing moved, because a flat month is information.
